## Export your QuickBooks accounting to TurboTax with Live Tax

Learn how to export your tax information from QuickBooks into TurboTax before filing your taxes.

If you have QuickBooks Live Tax and file as an S-Corporation, Partnership (GP, LP, or LLP) or multi-member LLC, you can export your small business’s accounting information into TurboTax in many states. This lets you do your taxes without leaving QuickBooks.

**Note**: We don’t support the transfer of depreciation and Balance Sheet items from QuickBooks Online to TurboTax. You’ll need to add them manually in TurboTax.

## Prerequisites

Before you can export your accounting into TurboTax:

- Sign up for Year-end tax filing in QuickBooks.
- Check that your books are up to date in **Year-end filing**.
- Make sure that all transactions are reviewed and tax mappings confirmed in your **Income tax** tab.

## Export and import process

1. Go to **All apps**, then **Business Tax**, then **Year-end filing**.
2. If your taxes are ready to file, you should see “Your books are tax ready!”
3. Before continuing, select **Detailed balance sheet** or **Profit and Loss statements** to review these reports.
4. When you’re confident in your information, select **Start taxes**. If you’ve already started this process, select **Continue taxes**.
5. Choose between **Ordinary business, Farming,** and **Real Estate Rental** (income primarily from the use of rental property).
    1. If you select **Real Estate Rental** or **Farming**, a new TurboTax tab will open.
    2. If you choose **Ordinary Business**, you can import your QuickBooks data.
6. Verify your QuickBooks info.
7. When you’re ready, select **Import**.
    1. If your import is successful, you’ll see “Allocations complete.” Review the imported data.
    2. If you see “Allocations incomplete,” you’ll need to fill out the missing info manually.
8. If you have TurboTax Live full service, we’ll connect you with an expert for next steps.
9. Follow the instructions on your screen.

### Correcting issues with the export

If your TurboTax has problems importing the exported data, you can either correct your imported data within TurboTax or try again.
