# Change your employee's direct deposit info

##### by Intuit•74• Updated about 23 hours ago

Once you've [**set up direct deposit**](https://community.intuit.com/content/p_na_na_gl_cas_na_article:L9KvxSLux_US_en_US) for an employee, you might need to update their bank account if something changes.

If you use Intuit Enterprise Suite and have multiple companies, you can see all employees for all of your companies in the consolidated employee dashboard. From any of your companies:

1. From the Company Switcher dropdown, select **Consolidated view**.
2. Go to **All Apps**, select **Payroll**, then select **Employees**.

From the employee dashboard, you can:

- Search for a specific employee
- Filter the view to see all employees for a specific company
- Customize the info that shows on the dashboard
- Make changes to employee info

### QuickBooks Online Payroll

1. Go to **All apps**, then **Team**, then **Employees** ( [**Take me there**](https://qbo.intuit.com/app/employees?jobId=team)).
2. Select your employee.
3. Select **Job & pay**.
4. From **Payment method**, select **Add** or **Edit**.
5. Enter the new bank account info.
6. When finished, select **Save**.

### QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

You can update the employee's bank account information on the same page where you set it up.

1. Go to **Employees** and select **Employee Center** to open your employee list.
2. Select the employee's name.
3. Select the **Payroll Info** tab.
4. Select the **Direct Deposit** button.
5. In the Direct Deposit window, select **Use Direct Deposit for mployee's name]**.
6. Select to deposit the paycheck into one or two accounts.
7. Enter the employee's financial institution information ( **Bank Name**, **Routing No.**, **Account No.**, and **Account Type**).
8. Select **OK** to save the information.
9. Enter your direct deposit PIN when prompted.

You need to edit the bank account info before you create a paycheck for the employee. Paychecks you create before you update the employee's account will be deposited to the old bank account. To avoid this, you can delete and recreate the paychecks before sending them to Intuit, or you can:

1. Open the paycheck and go to the **Paycheck Detail** window.
2. Uncheck the **Use Direct Deposit** option on the paycheck details.
3. Select **Save**, then **Save & Close**.

Open the paycheck again and select **Use Direct Deposit**. Be sure to select **Save**.
